I'm not a huge fan when it comes to Rockabilly style, but this added influence with the big hair & heavy  makeup I quite fancy... and again, more white leather. Can't get enough of it!

DIY Leather bow tie

A few months back I cut up an old leather jacket into a vest & saved the sleeves because I knew I'd have some sort of use for it. Sure enough... with a little inspiration from a couple posts earlier, I decided to make my menswear-style bow tie using the remaining leather! I wasn't sure how to go about it but with these easy step by step instructions I found on Honestly..wtf I had no trouble at all. I am so happy with the results!

THE THIRD MIND

MANIAMANIA Spring 2012 Campaign shoot, entitled The Third Mind. Inspired by the work of psychedelic pioneers like Brion Gysin and William Burroughs, the jewelry range pays a nod to surrealism. The designers note: "Free from the constraints of rational thought, the collection is constructed in ways that allude to the Exquisite Corpse technique--whereby words and images are collectively assembled and relish in absence of control." The collaborations featuring muse, Abbey Lee Kershaw, is part of a three-part series. In honor of their second season working with Kershaw, the designers have even designed the limited edition,  exclusive "Abbey Lee Ring."

The Australian designers Melanie Kamsler and Tamila Purvis have designed a beautiful new line of jewelry for Spring 2012 featuring wooden pendants, crystal balls and cubes cut from things like pyrite and labradorite (a feldspar mineral). See jewelry here.

Mixed Inspo

I've been slacking hardcore in the blogsphere world as of late.. been completely uninspired and trying to keep busy in my reality. Not nearly as fun though! I'm looking forward to Spring already, and want to start dressing accordingly. I'm seeing lots of white leather, chains, boxy prints, rose gold jewellery, over the knee boots, clear accessories, bow-ties and menswear inspired shirts and pant suits. I love it all, and feel like I've got a good head start on some of these things. And all my sheer blouses are going nowhere! I'm going to take myself shopping this weekend and hopefully get some nice additions to my dull winter wardrobe because I'm heading to San Diego at the end of next month. Finally some sun!
